2005 The Year of the Volunteer

Year of the Volunteer 2005 – try the things you love, help your career and make a difference to the lives of others.

2005 is the Year of the Volunteer, a year-long celebration of the work volunteers do and a call to action to get more and more of us volunteering.
The Year's main aim is to: Increase the number of volunteers, particularly individuals from marginalised groups and young people

During the Year of the Volunteer a different theme will be highlighted each month to provide all the information you could need to decide if you're interested in volunteering in that area.
March is older people month. The incredible impact of the 5 million over-50s who take part in unpaid work each year will be demonstrated in events throughout March.
